China CITIC Bank Credit Card Center and Visa Partner with Microsoft Bing to Create "The Choice of Infinite"
After publishing China's first official complete restaurant guide last year, in October 2016, China CITIC Bank Credit Card Center and VISA announced that they would partner with Microsoft Bing to launch two new restaurant guides targeting popular tourist destinations both domestically and abroad. According to the announcement, in addition to continuing to publish the "The Choice of Infinite2017 China Restaurant Guide" with in-depth coverage of the Chinese market, China CITIC Bank Credit Card Center and Visa will also extend their service to Korea, one of the top five travel destinations for Chinese people, introducing the new bilingual "The Choice of Infinite2017 Korea Restaurant Guide" in both Chinese and Korean.
Traditionally, a professional restaurant guide is typically created by inviting multiple professional food critics to jointly select restaurants. However, some discerning food enthusiasts still believe these conclusions don't represent mainstream tastes. Therefore, this year, "The Choice of Infinite" has unprecedentedly introduced Microsoft Bing, which has 15 million loyal high-end users in China, as its data support center, selecting the most popular restaurants based on Infinite cardholders' ratings and search popularity from Bing users. This represents a milestone reform in the history of global restaurant guides, changing the previously closed selection process to make restaurant selection more fair and closer to public taste.
"According to annual search data, restaurant searches have consistently ranked first on the search rankings. China is one of the most internet-developed countries, making it very suitable to combine restaurant guides with the internet, which is why we chose to partner with China CITIC Bank Credit Card Center and Visa," said Yao Qi, head of Microsoft Bing.
Starting from this October, the national roadshow of The Choice of Infinitewill begin. The restaurant guide will select quality restaurants based on Chinese lifestyle and dietary habits in Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Sanya, Hong Kong, Macau, as well as Korean cities such as Seoul, Busan, and Jeju Island. The guide includes an overview of each restaurant and provides rich information such as specialty dishes, restaurant type, telephone number, and address. It is recommended to use the Microsoft Bing app to scan the QR code on the guide to find restaurant information and reservation access. CITIC Infinite cardholders and Chinese diners can accurately locate, search, and filter their favorite restaurants through this guide. In addition to selecting 200 quality restaurants, the guide will also select "China's Best Chef," "Best Young Chef," "Best Female Chef," and "Best Pastry Chef."
